Plan and billing

Settings → Plan & Usage is where your own subscription to SoftActivate Licensing lives. Plans are metered by active devices (concurrently activated seats across your licenses), the number the usage meter tracks against your plan's cap.

On the demo tier

The panel shows your plan and usage, and an upgrade button per plan. The demo tier currently carries no usage limits; every paid plan starts with a 14-day free trial (first steps).

Taking payments for your own products

Settings → Payments is the other direction of money: connecting the Stripe or PayPal account you sell with, so your own sales create orders and license keys automatically. It holds your Stripe webhook signing secret, a read-only restricted key, and the price → product mapping, and shows the webhook/IPN values to paste on the provider side - the full walkthrough is the Selling with Stripe and PayPal guide.

Upgrading

Pick a plan; checkout is a hosted payment page, and the console reflects the new plan as soon as payment completes. Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.

After subscribing

  • Manage billing opens the self-service portal: payment method, invoices, and cancellation.
  • The active-devices meter shows usage against your plan cap. Approaching the cap is a normal sign of growth: validation keeps working, and a plan upgrade is what unlocks new activations beyond the cap.
  • Receipts and invoices come from the payment provider to your billing email.

Two different subscriptions

"Subscription" describes two things. This page covers your plan, what you pay for the console. Your customers' subscriptions to your products live on their orders page instead; each order's page shows its subscription's payment state and cancel action. Support questions about a customer's lapsed app belong to the latter.
